Nearly everyone has one... a Snapchat. We send our friends goofy faces, or the out of the ordinary things we see during the day. It's a new way to just say hey, that adds a little more human emotion to a conversation. Did you know Snapchat was originally a game? The point of the viewing seconds was so the person receiving the snap could take a screen shot within the allotted time. Now however it is so much more then a game. It has become a real social media outlet. The "Our Story" section is just like updating a status. There is a chat section where you can send 'DM's'. Plus you can even stay caught up on what's happening with the world with the "Discover" section.
I personally love the discover section. I missed the presidential debate and wanted to catch up on it so I went to CNN "bubble" and read what each candidate had to say. I go on there to hear the latest gossip from People, or Cosmo magazines. As a user you can now send money to other users using their 'Snapcash' feature. I believe Snapchat has really outdone itself when it comes to the word versatile.
Although there are still negative connotations associated with Snapchat regarding inappropriate content, I think users are finally starting to use it in the way the creators intended. It is in my opinion that Snapchat is supposed to be a fun way to stay connected through the day. I will continue using this social media outlet because I like that if you're having a conversation with someone and they are surprised, mad, scared, or otherwise you can see it when they send you a snap (as long as its of their face).
