Get 'em while its hot!

Striking while the iron is hot is crucial. David Meerman Scott describes this concept throughout Real-Time Marketing & PR. When responding to a customer's feedback, it's important to follow-up with a response. The response should not be an automated one. If however it is automated, make sure there is some personable content added. In order to do this companies often add incentives  to their marketing.
Incentives get annoying though. Sign up for our rewards card, you'll get so much off. Our rewards system is the best. "Excuse me, can I help you with something?" Everywhere we go people want us buy their products and employees bombard us with wanting their attention.
The solution give customers time. Let them shop around and then when they look like they may need assistance give it to them.
