Which One Wins?

Share this part III talks about the main social media outlets.
Facebook was discussed first. This has become the most used website in the social media world. What started as a way college students could discuss assignments, has turned into a world phenomena. Many people use it to stay connected to friends and family. The book however points out that the majority of people use Facebook to read articles and get news updates.
Twitter was the next to be described. These microblogs are a way for everyday people to get their thoughts out into the world. Share This explains most Twitter users do not read as many articles as they would on Facebook. Twitter is a great tool to get simple messages out there. With the "retweet" feature it can make things go viral in a matter of minutes.
LinkedIn has to be the least enthusiastic social media website of them all. The main feature suggested by Share This is networking. LinkedIn is a good way for businesses to connect with other business, or higher ups to connect with each other. Professionals say college students should start their LinedIn sooner rather than later. I have one and it has not done anything for me.
Google+ is a newer form of social media. Share This explains it as a way to segregate your personal and professional lives while updating both at the same time. I have not explored too much into Google+, though I have one due to my Google e-mails. I do not think it will catch as social media site.
Blogs are a big part of our everyday society. Many people use blogs as a second job of sorts. It's their hobby(s) that they share with the outside world. Share This further explains that most bloggers have a full time job but their blog for enjoyment.
Part III is insightful on how everyday users and business engage in social media differently. The main goal I found was simply to get information out there. So which one wins? In my opinion Facebook is the most beneficial. A lot of users get news or read articles from it, but they are also connecting with their social networks. I still enjoy the other social media websites, but Facebook is more helpful in the social world.

Real VS. Fake?

I am an avid Grey's Anatomy fan. I have been since day one of it first appearing on ABC. However how much of it can I rely on to show me educational medical information? The answer is more than you think.
Like most tv dramas, there is a lot of exaggeration. We all know it's illegal to "get it on" in the on call rooms and internships are nothing like they are on Grey's. However most of the cast members will do research on the "surgery" they are going to preform to help it appear more realistic and you can almost always count on the medical cases being based off of actual events.
My favorite case debuted on Grey's was heart in a box. In this episode the then interns witness a heart living out side the body. Cristina Yang who is obsessed with cardiology got to wheel around a "heart in a box" while making her bucket list of surgeries. There were many instances where spectators put the show's writer, Shondra Rhimes, down because the medical cases she wrote around were obscure and unrealistic. Luckily for Shondra UCLA has her back.
In September of 2011 UCLA did a heart transplant where the donor heart, which is usually put on ice when transported, was kept alive by a machine that allowed the heart to continue beating. The heart transplant to Mr. Evans was very successful. At the end of the video below he jokes that now his new heart is secure he is first going to tackle his wife's to-do-list.
So yes, Grey's Anatomy is overly dramatic and things don't work like they do at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital as they do in real hospitals but the medical cases they show us are based on real life. If you are not a Grey's super fan like I am and still have a hard time believing they actually use real cases, please do the research yourself.

Aunt Pina

Today was a wonderful Autumn day. The sun was shining, and it was just the right temperature to go on a hayride. So I did, and I took along with me, my two nephews and niece. Kaleb, Khristian, and Kaydance are the ones that call me Aunt Pina (Said PEE-NA). Having not seen them in a while, I was missing these three goofballs like crazy and wanted to do something exciting that they haven't done before. We went to Jason's Pumpkin Patch up in Oak Harbor and explored the land.
At Logan's we got to pet some barnyard animals, go through a corn maze, play on the playground, and so much more. I think all of our favorite part was the hayride or sifting through the "corn box" (much like a sandbox but with corn). Today we just enjoyed the company of each other and explored new things. We even tried apple cider; Kaleb didn't like it too much but the other 2 did. We had hotdogs and chips with our cider for lunch then we went to Perrysburg to go to Bass Pro (because Grandpa, who drove, wanted to go).
Kaydance (3) is in pink, Kaleb
(7) is in orange, and Khristian
(5) is in grey.
When we got to Bass Pro we looked at all the animals, ate some Toft's Ice Cream and played the target game. Which Aunt Pina won, but not by much. Then we went to Michael's Craft store and got some things to take home to make. Once I dropped them off, I had to sadly come back to school. As I was leaving, Kaydance says, "Pina, me FaceTime you, kay?" So I said alright we'll FaceTime sometime this week. I'm looking forward to it. Overall the three niblings (which is the correct gender-neutral plural for niece(s) and nephew(s)) and I had a great day. I can't wait until our next adventure, and I'm pretty sure they can't either.
