Good Afternoon Bri Twigg Blog Readers,
Today marks one month until my birthday. How exciting? It isn't a mile stone birthday, just another one for the books, but for me, it's still important. Now that it is fall I am so much more relaxed. Fall is my favorite season not just for nature's beauty, but for the personal beauty brought out in me.
Kicking off this fall semester hasn't been as easy as I'd hoped. For many people Bri Twigg is this very energetic, quirky, bubbly, girl that is a blast to be around. For me being Bri Twigg is a joy and a burden. Coming back to school and facing unexpected challenges has taken a lot of the "Bri Twigg" away from me. Slowly however Bri is making her way back.
One of the best things that happened thus far in the semester is getting my picture on the Mac Wall. We visit the McIntosh Center on high school tours and as you enter the building, one of the first things the tour guides explains is how awesome it is if you get your picture on the Mac Wall. Well ladies and gents, I've done it. Bri Twigg is singularly featured on the wall by the Wishing Well. At first glance however, you would not think it's me. I'm not dressed as Bri Twigg, I'm Dressed as Brent Log (all puns intended).
Last semester I dressed in drag to support the Open Doors' Rubi Affair event. By participating in the event I helped not only raise awareness for the LGBT and Alliance community, but proceeds from the event went to help out the Lima, Ohio's Aids Resource Center. Though I did not win the show, I won the hearts of the audience and the Rubi Girls (the drag queens from Dayton, OH).
As the semester progresses I plan to take this honor and use it to motivate me to success. Though I know I shouldn't brag, I am completely excited to be on the Mac Wall. ONU has given me so many great opportunities to grow and achieve greatness. I am excited to see what fall has in store.
Until later,
Bri

ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you made it onto the Mac Wall. I can definitely say that is a goal of mine before I leave ONU, but the probability I actually make it up there is quite slim. The cause that you participated in, in order to make it on the wall is awesome as well. I was fortunate enough to go to Rubi Affair my freshman year, but wasn't able to last year. Looking forward to this years and seeing you perform. Again congratulations on making the Mac Wall!!
