Is Apple Still No. 1?

I am an Apple fan. I have a MacBook Air, an iPhone 6, and have had various iPods. They are always coming out with the a bigger and better Apple product with the most high tech system upgrades. However, it seems that they are never the first to tell you about the "bugs" with these upgrades.
Apple just released the iOS 9 update. I gives iPhone lovers a new way to experience their seemingly never changing device. Yes, from the first iPhone to the now iPhone 6s/6s Plus there have been significant changes, but for the most part there are no real differences. From what I have experienced of the new iOS 9 update, its pretty cool. It took some getting use to with how you close apps now, but other than that I haven't had any major problems.... until I saw an article on Facebook.
While taking my daily scroll through the beloved Facebook, I saw an article about the Apple iOS 9 update and had to read it. For those of us with limited data the iOS 9 update may not be our friend. It has this setting that allows your data to be used if your phone doesn't feel a strong enough wifi connection. So not only did we pay a lot for this smart little tiny computer, but now it will cause our bills to skyrocket. In order to prevent this, you can go to your settings and at the very bottom of the cellular section there is an option to turn it off.
So before we go praising Apple for being the bomb dot com, we need to evaluate what they aren't telling us. I will continue to by Apple products, but I wish they would be more open about the bugs that come along with their newest updates.

  1. Bri,

I too am an Apple fan, owning a IPhone and IPad. I love the Apple products, and I rely on them to be my primary mode of communication. The new update came out recently, but I haven't had the chance to upgrade. Part of the reason I am hesitant to upgrade is because of the glitches that typically come with it. As with any update, Apple will continue to make little changes to the IOS system. I do agree with you that Apple needs to let customers know when they change things, especially when it deals with cost. People need to be aware of what they are paying, since they do not want an unexpected bill when it arrives. Overall, I enjoy using the Apple products but agree that more information needs to be disclosed when a new update comes to the market.

  2. Bri- I was surprised by your post. I had no idea that Apple’s latest update included a feature that allows data usage without your knowledge. Everyone wants to download the latest update as soon as they can. No one wants to be behind. We live in a society that wants the latest technology as soon as it is available. Apple devices are continuously changing and evolving but I disagree that Apple failed to educate users about the data usage change. My guess is Apple included the details of this feature in the terms and agreement you approved when you updated your phone. It is always best to review what you’re agreeing to before acting.

  3. Bri, I am a multi-brand user. I own a Samsung cellphone, an iPad and a Macbook computer. So, I cannot comment about the problems with the new iPhone update, but I can tell you I've noticed that there tends to be many problems with Apple updates. I know even when I updated my computer to the new system, that there were so many issues with it. My computer freezes all the time and it's extremely slow, all since I've downloaded the new software. Many of my friends own iPhones and I hear them complain all the time about updates gone wrong. I'd like to think I'm every accepting of all brands, but this is a major reason why I haven't switched to an iPhone yet. Many users bills tend to skyrocket and with my phone, I know exactly when I'm pushing the limits on my data usage. I agree, Apple needs to be more forthcoming about bugs.
